"I need help Lord," she said. At that time, a truck pulling trailer
stopped. The driver said "Do you need any help?" We are from the First Baptist Church in

before replying, "Yes, I need help!"
In addition to flooding in their homes, unless they were on stilts, many people
in Yankeetown had to move cars and boats off their property, in order to save them from
flooding, as the water levels in the Withlacoochee River continued to rise, well beyond flood
level.
The Yankeetown Coast Guard Station had prepared the best they could with sand-
bags, but they, as many on the Withlacoochee River and nearby areas, were flooded out of
their location. In preparation, they had relocated their boats to other areas. (Photo page 12)
The Food Ranch Supermarket in Inglis never lost power and was able to maintain
regular hours,"through the entire ordeal," said store manager Doug Johnston of Dunnellon.
Johnston said they sold out of flashlights and size D batteries, but had extra bottled water
and ice delivered for the many who were, quite literally, flooded out of their homes and/or
without power. The store sold five extra pallets of water and over 500 bags of ice. Several
employees had to stay in the store, all night on Thursday and Friday, due to the alarm going
off, repeatedly.

repair workers from CFEC and out of state worked day and night to restore power. Outage up-
