Citrus adopts tentative millage rate
Pet Patrol
and tentative budget
During a short special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners Thursday,
board members adopted the tentative millage rates and tentative budget for the FY 2012-13.
Management and Budget Director Cathy Taylor started the meeting by stating the rolled-
back rate, proposed aggregate millage rate and percent increase in the aggregate millage
rate.
Board members voted unanimously to approve a resolution to adopt the tentative
millage rate and the budget was adopted by a 4-1 vote. Chairman Winn Webb said he would
support the millage rate but not the budget. There was no public input during the open to the
public portion of the meeting.
The total County-wide millage rate is 5.9783; Fire Protection Taxing District is
0.8014; and the Special Library District is 0.3236. The aggregate rolled-back rate is 7.0677
mills and the proposed aggregate millage rate is 7.0641 mills, therefore the percentage mill-
age decrease is (0.05%).
The final budget hearing will be on September 25, 2012 at 5:01pm at the Citrus
