Levy Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest
Deputies with the Levy County Sheriff s Office, Drug Task Force conducted a traf-
fic stop, Sept. 17, on a 2005 model Ford "dually" truck due to erratic driving. The vehicle
was driven by Reinhard Bailey, age 60, of Dunnellon. The truck had been seen
earlier at an inactive clandestine methamphetamine lab site, according to the
LCSO. The deputies, Certified Clandestine Lab Investigators, observed lye
and two containers of camping fuel in plain view in the vehicle. Both sub-
stances are used in the process of illegally manufacturing methamphetamine.
During the subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputies located seven
Bailey
individual bags of methamphetamine which had been concealed in the driver's
side door.
Bailey was arrested by Deputy Tim Rogers, charged with possession of metham-
phetamine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bailey was booked
into the Levy County Detention Facility. His bond was set at $90,000.
The illegal manufacture, distribution and use of methamphetamine continue to be a
problem in Levy County. The Drug Task Force encourages all citizens who may have infor-
mation about these activities to contact the Sheriff s Office at 352-486-5111. The informa-
tion can also be given anonymously to CrimeStoppers of Levy County at 1-800-349-8477,
and you may be entitled to a cash reward.

"The Tactical Impact Unit has been extremely dedicated to finding those respon-
sible for making and distributing drugs in our community," said Sheriff Jeff Dawsy, who
was at the scene during the Friday search. "I had a nice conversation with our two suspects
to let them know we just won't tolerate this activity, here."
