Updated Information on Funds for
Pet Patrol
home repair assistance
Funds are now available to low income Citrus County homeowners for home repair
assistance through the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program. Citrus County
Housing Services will be hosting an applicant intake and orientation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on
September 18, 2013 to discuss SHIP program strategies and review the application process.
This orientation will be held at the Citrus County Resource Center Café located at 2804 W.
Marc Knighton Ct. in Lecanto.
Several program strategies including emergency home repair, home rehabilitation,
and housing replacement will be reviewed. These programs address acute emergencies such
as roof, air conditioning or drain field repair, correct serious structural and/or health and
safety related issues, and construct new homes to replace unsafe structures where rehabilita-
tion is not financially feasible. Site built homes, as well as mobile homes constructed after
June 1994, provided the home is classified as Real Property, may be eligible for assistance.
Eligible units must be both owner-occupied and the primary residence of the applicant.
