along what was the old town property line. I have wanted to move the hedge to the far side so
that it would be more obvious that the town owns the lot next to the play ground and maybe
put up some picnic tables or something for a while. Maybe our new committee can come up
with a plan. There have been some citizens who have suggested that we put in a basketball
court. This may be a good idea but as I said in the council meeting, we need to careful what
we build with grant funds as once something is put in with grant funds you are committed to
maintain it for 25 years. So, if we were to decide that we needed to use the space to expand
the town hall or fire department, that piece would be unavailable as it must remain dedi-
cated. This is probably a remote possibility but it needs to be looked at carefully. Anyway,
back to the hedge, Vice Mayor Marsha Drew helped by Mike Clary and Norm Shannahan
volunteered to remove the old hedge and spent a long couple of days in the heat accom-
plishing this. It gives new meaning to the term "hands on" with regards to our council mem-
bers.
If you haven't got your evacuation re-entry sticker yet, come by the town hall and
pick one up. Also Laura said she would take them to the September 22nd mid-month meet-
ing and give them out there before the meeting. Hurricane Ike passed us by but did manage
to create a very high tide which caused some yard flooding in Waterway Estates. All in all
we came out pretty good but our thoughts and sympathies must be with Texas who is going
to be suffering for some time. Good Night and Good Luck, Dawn Marie Clary, Mayor of

When women’s lacrosse is added next year the University of Florida will have 21 sports

Gators will drop a home game just to lend a little more prestige to your schedule.
That being said, I will admit that it is a rivalry that predates the rivalry with FSU so I
too wish there was a way to play the Hurricanes every year. But please don’t say it is because
Florida fears the Hurricanes.
