Man charged with video
voyeurism at stateOffice responded to a report of

On July 26, deputies with the Levy County Sheriff s
a suspicious item found in the ladies restroom at Fanning Springs State Park that was later
determined to be a video camera.
Officers with the Florida Park Service, Florida Fish and Wildlife
Conservation Commission (FWC) and the sheriff s office began a search of
the park to locate the person responsible for concealing the camera. Investiga-
tors found 50 year-old Ronald Alan Everett of Old Towne, FL, who confessed
to placing the camera under a sink in the restroom after he was confronted
with the unspecified evidence against him. According to the LCSO, Everett

made statements indicating that he may have placed additional cameras in
other public restrooms.
Everett was placed under arrest and transported to the Levy County Detention Cen-
ter, charged with video voyeurism subsequent offense, possession of cannabis less than 20
grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false identification to law enforcement.
His total bond was set at $154,500. Everett was already listed as a "Sexual Offender" on the
FDLE website for a prior offense.
The investigation into Everett possibly setting up cameras in other locations is
continuing. Meanwhile, the public is urged to be aware of their surroundings when using
public restrooms, and if you should find any suspicious devices, please contact the LCSO at
