Citrus County Express Permitting Goes
The Citrus County Building Division went live, August 1, with a new line of e-
government services that enhance online permitting to now allow self-service purchase of
Air Conditioning (HVAC) change-out and Reroof permits. In collaboration with the Depart-
ment of Systems Management, the Building Division has updated its Contractor Portal for
online permitting services to more efficiently serve the building community.
With this program contractors can use a tablet or cell phone to apply and receive
permit approval, never leaving the job site. The County will continue to accept walk-in per-
mit applications, with an emphasis on transitioning contractors to the online portal.
There will be a presentation on this innovative project at the Board of County
