"Run Daryl Run"
Daryl Miller, a 53 year old from St Louis MO, is a man with a mission
inspired by Forest Gump’s “Run Forest Run”. Miller’s run began in Key West
June 10, 2013 and will take “Run DARYL Run” on a 1000 day, 13,000 mile
trek around the whole perimeter of the continental United States. With GPS, his
route will take him across the southern states, up the California Coast, across the
upper states to Caribou Maine and back south day 1000 and his 25th birthday
March 5, 2016 to the buoy in Key West marking the southern most point in the
U.S. where his journey began. Up to this time, even running across the state on
Alligator Alley with his sixty plus pound back pack, Miller has slept in the wild.
A stop over at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park was to get
an education on Florida wildlife and snakes he might encounter on his jour-
ney. Purchasing his first one man tent at this point will give him a little creature
comfort as he headed into the Nature Coast.
Stopping in Inglis this past week, Miller showed off his second pair of
shoes since the odyssey began and sports a couple of nice blisters on his feet
