He said Kleintank had left the store without incident.
About 12:55 a.m. (Aug. 25), the first victim said he saw Kleintank walking toward
the pharmacy counter, then he suddenly jumped over the counter with a knife in his right
hand and demanded, ìgive me the drugs.î He said Kleintank began stabbing at him, so he
placed his hands toward his chest area to protect himself, and Kleintank stabbed him mul-
tiple times to his hands. He yelled for help, and the other two victims ran to the pharmacy
and grabbed Kleintank, but he was swinging his hands and managed to stab them during
the altercation. The first victim said he feared for his life during the encounter because of
Kleintank demanding drugs and stabbing at him with a knife. EMS arrived on scene and
transported the first victim to Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness for further treatment.
The second victim said that he’d been near the front of the store when Kleintank
arrived. He said he’d watched him walk toward the pharmacy, then he heard the yelling for
help and saw Kleintank on top of the first victim, stabbing at his hands. He said that he and
the third victim arrived at the pharmacy, about the same time, and both were stabbed while
trying to subdue Kleintank. He said he was stabbed in the left abdomen and under his left
arm. Due to the location of his wounds, the second victim was flown by a Shands helicopter
to Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala.
The third victim said that he saw Kleintank enter the store, and he was not wearing
shoes. He said he told Kleintankk that he could not enter the store without them, but Klein-
