Remembering the Past
Two Arrested for Possession of
a Controlled Substance

Salina Kaykatrina Blanton, 29, 1301 NE 2nd Ave., Crystal River, was arrested
by the Citrus County Sheriff s Office, Aug. 15, charged with possession of a controlled
substance (one 30 mg. oxycodone tablet and one sublingual film of suboxone 8 mg.), utter
and publish a forged instrument with intent to defraud (six counterfeit $10 bills to purchase
a motel room) and possession of drug paraphernalia (metal container housing drugs). Her
total bond was set at $12,500. She was also issued a warning for running a stop sign. The
arrest came as the result of an undercover officer observing the vehicle in traffic and noting
the driving to be erratic. Blanton said the forged bills had been given her in repayment of a
debt, and she d been informed later that they were counterfeit. She said she d planned to use

and covered picnic area have been added. Canoes and kayaks have a launch area now as well

making Kings Bay with it’s beautiful springs an easy paddle. The area still attracts all ages

Crystal River man killed in Dunnellon motorcycle crash

Dispatchers with the Citrus County Sheriff s Office received a 911 call at 1:08
  
a.m., August 13, regarding a traffic crash at C.R. 488 and Diamond T Lane in Dunnellon.
 
One of the victims, Marie Bunts, 53, of Crystal River, stated that she and her boyfriend had
 
   
been in a motorcycle accident, and she could not find him, according to the sheriff s office.
 
Deputies arrived on scene and found Randy L. Boose, 59, 7610 N. Brahma Terrace, Crystal
 
River, unconscious and non-responsive. They began CPR and diligently tried to resuscitate
 
him until EMS arrived, but he was later pronounced deceased at the scene. Bunts was trans-
  
ported to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center for treatment. The Medical Examiner s

office was contacted and responded to the scene.



