About Fay
I need to ask something.
Exactly how much warning does
someone in Citrus County need
to actually take affirmative ac-
tion in the face of an impending
storm? Three months? Three
weeks? Three days? I'm getting the impres-
sion today that it is more like three hours. I'm
out and about checking out what kinds of
activities people are up to while Tropical Storm
Fay is churning its way north towards us. It
seems simple enough, hang out out the local
building supply stores and see the trail of
hurricane and emergency supplies disappear
from the shelves.
Instead of lines of folks taking home
generators and plywood, I'm getting a whole
lot of shoulder shrugging and indifference
when I ask "what are you doing to prepare for
the storm coming?" Most folks were buying
