Academy Wants You!
We invite you to sign up for the Sheriff s Office Citizens Academy and experience
the excitement of law enforcement and fire rescue! The Sheriff s Office Citizens Academy
is an educational program offered free of charge to all Citrus County residents. The next
class begins on August 21, 2014 and lasts for 10-weeks. Classes meet on Thursdays at the
Sheriff's Emergency Operations Center in Lecanto and participants may choose between an
afternoon class (1-4 p.m.) and an evening class (6-9 p.m.).
The academy was designed to provide a better understanding of the entire Sheriff's
Office and show citizens exactly what we do and how we do it. Beyond that, the underlying
objective is to build an even stronger partnership between law enforcement officers, fire
rescue personnel and the people we serve.

3:00 pm at 3610 S. Florida Ave., (adjacent to the fairgrounds, a new, temporary location).
There will be no admission fee, free parking, and the show will be held, rain or shine.
Crafters will display a wide variety of items at reasonable prices: knitted and cro-
cheted items, ceramics, jewelry, hand-sewn items, unusual wood-worked items, soaps,

handbags, shell art, floral designs, delectible edibles and many more items, all handcrafted.
Lunch will be available for purchase.
Each crafter will donate an item of their work for the drawing that will be held ev-
ery half hour, the proceeds of which will benefit 832 K-9's Deputy Dogs' located at 11565
Gulf to Lake Hwy. in Inverness. This non-profit foundation trains bloodhounds to do search
and rescue for law enforcement and is dedicated to the memory of Deputy Kody Snodgrass,
Badge #832, of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
