New Recruit Joins Manatee Division
as Brother Prepares recently joined theNavy
for the Manatee Division
Cadet Nicholas Sikalos of New Port Richey
of the Naval Sea Cadet Corps. The eleven year old thought it would be a "junior version
of the real navy that my brother is going into soon". His brother, Stavros Sikalos, will be
shipping off to Naval Station Great Lakes in early August. He also joined the unit as a Sea
Cadet to both support his younger brother as well as to get a feel for Navy life before his
recruit training. Lieutenant Commander Todd Dunn, Commanding Officer of the division
said, "I can't be more proud of this kid. He saw an opportunity and grabbed on to it". The
18 year old will be a great asset to the military as he is a go getter having earned his college
degree at the same time as he earned his high school diploma. Manatee Division meets
monthly at Coast Guard Station Yankeetown and learns about Naval Service. The Sea Cadet
Corps is a youth organization for Americans from 11-17 years old. For more information,
call the Commanding Officer LCDR Todd Dunn at 352-212-5473.
