CCSO loses deputy to apparent suicide

Members of the Citrus County Sheriff's Office were notified on Saturday,

July 4, that Dep. Roy West was discovered deceased in a hotel room outside

of Citrus County. West, age 50, died from an apparent suicide.

Dep. West joined the Sheriff's Office in December of 2003. After three years

on road patrol, he became a traffic deputy in 2006. He also served on the
