Re: Tree (not on my property) hit by lightning
Meeting Reminder:
I live on 63rd Street, Yankeetown. Lightning has hit a tree out in front of my house.
I have reported it, and apparently, the commissioners down here don’t want to cut it down,

dence for almost 40 years. I’m afraid it’s going to fall and kill somebody in this house. I’d
like to have it taken down, but no one seems to be able to do this. It’s on their property, but
if it falls, it’s going to fall on my house.
They came and put something around the tree, but apparently, they’re not going to
take it down, and I can’t afford to. There must be somebody who can take this thing down
before it does some damage. Thank you.

CF Levy Center to Offer Welding Course
(CHIEFLAND)— The College of Central Florida will offer an Applied Welding Technolo-
gies program at the Levy Center beginning with the fall semester. Classes will meet Monday
through Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 22.
The program will prepare students for employment as welders and flame cutters,
tack welders, welder assemblers, arc cutters and welders, combination welders and produc-
tion line workers. It provides supplemental training for individuals previously or currently
employed in these occupations. The program takes 18-24 months to successfully complete.
Participants will learn the use of gases and welding processes to assemble parts according
to diagrams, blueprints or written specifications. They will also learn communication skills,
leadership skills, human relations and employability skills, and safe and efficient work prac-
tices.
Participants must complete the CF Application for Admission and pay a one-time
registration fee of $30. The admissions application deadline is Aug. 11 and course registra-

to complete the program, which costs approximately $3,600. Students seeking financial as-
sistance should apply as soon as possible. For more information or to speak with an advisor,
