Inglis Commission Puts FRDAP
Grants on Hold
The July 13 Inglis Town Commission Meeting lasted almost 4 hours with approxi-
mately 30 plus concerned citizens actively taking part or listening to their town business
being conducted. Thirteen items appeared under new business on the meeting agenda along
with the usual reports, comments and voting. Many people had filled out forms to be al-
lowed to talk under the new meeting control rules.
Mayor Lake asked for a vote in favor of applying for 2 Florida Recreation De-
velopment Assistance Program (FRDAP) grants. FRDAP grants are from the Department
of Environmental Protection (DEP) which is a competitive program to provide grants for
acquisition or development of land for park or recreation use. One of the grants would be for
an addition to the Mayor’s pet project Central Park since the Commission voted to use town
funds for the $25.000 for Phase 2, the new exercise area.
The other application would be for the purchase of the Brown property on S Inglis
