“ROCK ON” INGLIS
I could call this article
“Out On A Limb” and those
that know me well, know I
have been there before (on
the limb) and speak truthfully and histori-
cally.
As in last weeks article, the “Rock
Store”, 646 Hwy 40 W Inglis, built in
1928, does have a demolition permit
pulled on it. I have over 30 names of folks
wanting to help “SAVE THE ROCK”.
Carlgene Mosley, the owner, in an in-
terview said he would keep it up for sale
until the end of August but “if I don’t sell
it, I will demolish it, I am willing to work
with someone”. Property taxes of $2650,
a monthly Inglis water bill even when the
building is unoccupied, special assess-
ments such as Inglis storm water run off
and the new Inglis mandatory garbage as-
sessed on the tax bill approaching it’s 2nd
reading before approval, all contribute to
the fact that the closed business building
is too costly to just let sit.
Wednesday night at 6 PM the In-
glis Commission will consider a new tax
or assessment to fund the struggling fire
department adding to the woes of citizens
who already have franchise fees tacked
on monthly bills and are finding it harder
The Homosassa State Wildlife park was renaned in a special ceremony last week. The state park honors long time environmental
