Floral City Man Dies in Crash
A single-vehicle crash in Inverness at 12:25 a.m., July 14, resulted in the death of
the driver, Randy Allen Beardmore, 53, of Floral City. According to the Florida Highway
Patrol, at the time of the press release, the following circumstances are believed to have led
to this incident which remains under investigation:
Beardmore was driving a 1997 Chevy pickup truck, traveling east on Moccasin
Drive, just west of Windwood Place. Beardmore attempted to negotiate a left curve in the
roadway, when the vehicle traveled onto the shoulder. Beardmore lost control of the pickup
truck, and while he was attempting to steer back onto the roadway the pickup truck began
rotating in a clockwise direction and traveled onto the left shoulder of the roadway where it
collided with a power pole.
Upon impact, Beardmore was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries
and expired at the scene of the crash.
