Sheriff's Office, July 2, charged with two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle; total bond
$20,000.
William Edward Coggins, Jr., 288 E. Cason Ln., Inglis, was arrested by the Levy
County Sheriff's Office, July 2, charged with driving while license suspended, habitual of-
fender; bond $3,000.
Brandon Wesley Cofield, 28, 153 S. School Ave., Lecanto, was arrested by the Cit-
rus County Sheriff's Office, July 8, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance
(methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia (aluminum wrapper); total bond
$5,500. The arrest came as the result of a traffic stop for driving 62 mph in a 45 mph zone in
the area of W. Grant St. and S. Calais Ter., in Homosassa.

stop in Inverness when the vehicle in which Whitley was a rear seat passenger ran a stop
sign at David St. and N. Florida Ave. A K-9 officer alerted to the presence of narcotics in the
vehicle, and the crack cocaine was found on the rear seat, beside Whitley, inside an arthritis
medication bottle. Whitley stated the cocaine was his. The front seat driver and passenger
said they'd never seen the bottle, and the crack did not belong to them. Whitley said he did
not purchase the crack cocaine, but did not wish to further discuss details of where the crack
had come from. The driver was issued a written warning for running the stop sign.

Lelton Lee Barron, 29, 6659 W. Renee Ln., Homosassa, was arrested by the Cit-
rus County Sheriff's Office, July 9, charged with one count of felony counterfeiting; bond
$2,000. The arrest was initiated on May 5 (2014) by the Homosassa Walmart where the
counterfeit currency was received in payment for a phone card. Barron told responding
deputies that he received the counterfeit currency in a $250 payment for a tattoo. On June 4,
while Barron was in custody at the Dunnellon Police Department on a counterfeit currency
charge, a CCSO detective made a digital recording (over the phone) of Barron confessing

Citrus County Sheriff's Office, July 9, charged with felony lewd and lascivious battery of a
person 12 to 16 years of age (a 14 year-old girl); bond $10,000. During a forensic interview,
the girl said that she and Reid had four inappropriate sexual encounters while he was living
in her family's home. When the girl's family learned what had happened, they had Reid
move out of the home. Reid denied the charges, accusing the girl of lying.
Vontrelle Lee Edwards, 27, 3475 NE 9th Ter., Wildwood, FL, was arrested by the
