Tax-Math
I need someone to explain
something to me. It seems that
everywhere I turn, including
during my weekly morning
breakfast chats, someone talk-
ing politics is talking about tax
relief and/or tax cuts. Notwithstanding the fact
that I like the idea of tax relief and tax cuts, I
don't understand why those issues would be
paramount to a campaign. Moreover, I don't
really understand the math involved. Not that
I am a math blockhead, quite the contrary ac-
tually, but I guess I just don't' understand tax
math.
I spent some time this past week re-
searching for this column. I asked people
around me, employees, friends, and even my
bacon and egg buds, "how much tax cut
would make a difference for you?" I asked
them to think about how either a one time
'economic incentive' or yearly tax decrease
