Seniors vs. Crime Honored
for Ten Years of Service
Citrus  County s  Seniors  vs.
Crime project, which was started in July
of 2002, is celebrating it s 10th anniver-
sary of operation. Seniors vs. Crime is a
joint project of the Citrus County Sheriffís
Office and the Florida Attorney General's
Office - and the first agency of its kind in
the state to combine the resources of these
two agencies to assist older adults. Staff
members advocate not just for the elderly,
but for citizens of all ages who believe
theyíve been bilked by unscrupulous ven-
dors, telemarketers, service providers and
others.
The agency is located in Bever-
ly Hills at the Beverly Plaza, adjacent to
the sheriffís Ridge Area Community Re-
source Office. Since the agency opened its
doors, its success has far exceeded all ex-
pectations, investigating countless cases
ranging from simple business/customer
miscommunications to deceptive business
