Independence Day Adoption Specials at Animal Services
Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP) and Village Toyota of
Crystal River are sponsoring adoption specials on Independence Day weekend. Dogs that
have been at the shelter less than 30 days are $10, cats less than 30 days are $5. Adoption
fees will be waived for any animal that has been at the shelter for more than 30 days. We
encourage the public to visit the shelter, located at 4030 S. Airport Road in Inverness, from
10 am to 4 pm to pick out a shelter animal to adopt. Please call Animal Services for more
information at 746-8400.
County offices Closed for Independence Day Holiday
Citrus County Government offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of
Independence Day.The county landfill will be open on Friday, July 3 from 8 am to 4:30 pm,
and closed on Independence Day. There will be no Household Hazardous Waste drop offs
on Friday and the Administration Office will be closed. All library branches will be open
regular business hours on Saturday, July 4, but will be closed on Friday, July 3. All Commu-
nity Buildings will be closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parks and Boat Ramps will be
open for public use, but will be heavily congested due to scallop season. Bicentennial Pool
will be open until 6:00 pm on July 3 and July 4. The hours for Bicentennial Pool on Sunday,
