Two men arrested on armed home
invasion robbery charges
Two men were arrested in connection with an armed home invasion robbery that
took place in Beverly Hills at a residence on S. Adams St. around 2:00 a.m. May 12 and
were known by the homeowner.
According to the arrest report of Jerrell Sharod Smith, 28, 40 S. Lincoln Ave.,
Beverly Hills, several witnesses at the S. Adams St. residence said that he had been at the
residence earlier, around 11:00 p.m. on May 11, to purchase prescription medication from
the homeowner, a 30 year old woman. Around 2:00 a.m., the homeowner and her brother
answered the door and two black men forced their way inside, armed with handguns and
forced the occupants to get on the floor, demanding cash and drugs, pointing their guns at
the victims and placing the gun to the head

also accused Tabb of sexually molesting a young girl. As child protective investigations in
Citrus County are performed by the sheriffís office, the agency's Child Protection Investiga-
tion unit looked into the alleged physical abuse, which turned out to be unfounded. How-
ever, the complaint involving the alleged sexual abuse of a minor was turned over to the
agencyís Special Victims Unit for follow-up.
In the early stages of that investigation, Sheriff Jeff Dawsy made the decision to
engage an independent agency (FDLE) to handle the case, specifically because it involved
a current CCSO deputy sheriff and also was multi-jurisdictional, with witnesses and alleged
sex acts occurring outside of Citrus County as well as within the county limits.
The female victim of the alleged abuse is currently an adult in her early 20s and no
longer resides in Citrus County. According to the arrest warrant, the sexual abuse occurred
on multiple occasions at different locations between January 2003 and December 2008.
