Truck Theft  - Continued from page 1
Not long before 1:00 am on June 23, deputies spotted the stolen truck in Crystal
River in the neighborhood near Sleight s residence. The truck was being driven
by Ramos, and Sleight was a passenger. When deputies attempted to make a traf-
fic stop, Ramos continued driving the vehicle, turning onto several streets with
the deputies in pursuit. Another deputy managed to deflate two of the vehicle s
tires with stop sticks, and Ramos finally stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of
Raynond James Financial Services, located at 2101 SE. Hwy 19.
Sleight
Ramos and Sleight got out of the truck, and took off running on foot,
heading northwest. Deputies caught up with the duo at 1180 N. Suncoast Blvd.
They were taken into custody and transported back to the location where the
vehicles were parked. The truck was in good condition, according to the report,
with the exception of the two deflated tires from the stop sticks used by depu-
ties.
Ramos
Ramos told deputies he d stayed overnight at the N. Elkcam Blvd., Bev-
erly Hills residence, swam in the pool, took a shower and washed his clothing.
He said, while looking for money so that he could purchase drugs, he found the truck keys,
and when the realtor arrived at the residence, he left in the truck. Ramos was charged with
auto theft and burglary of an unoccupied residence. His total bond was set at $12,000.
Sleight was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle and a small cannabis
"roach" (cannabis cigarette butt). The items were found in her purse. She told deputies she
uses needles to shoot up liquid methamphatamine. Sleight was charged with resisting an
officer without violence; theft of an auto, bus or truck; possession of cannabis less than 20
gms and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her total bond was set at $5,000
