Gulf beach remains open to swimming as of June 16
Pet Patrol
The Citrus County Environmental Health Department said on June 16 that bacte-
rial samples at the Ft. Island Gulf Beach Park remained in the acceptable range in the most
recent tests.
That means the county park beach remains open for swimming until at least late
next week when sampling will be done again.
For more information on water quality in relation to swimming, call the Citrus
County Health Department at 352-527-5283 or for a more complete discussion of beach
water quality visit the Department of Health’s Internet Beach Water Quality website www.
