Homosassa Trail Now Open at US 19
Homosassa Springs, FL ­ Homosassa Trail has just been reopened on the west side
of US 19. It had been closed since mid-March for a variety of construction work related to
the US 19 widening project.
While the road is reopened for daytime traffic, drivers can expect periodic night
closures between 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. in the same area.
Citrus County eligible for SBA Disaster Loans for Drought
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced today, June 13, 2017
that federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available to small businesses, small agri-
cultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and private nonprofit orga-
nizations located in Citrus County, Florida as a result of the drought that began on April 11,
2017. This disaster declaration includes the following counties: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsbor-
ough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sumter in Florida.
When the Secretary of Agriculture issues a disaster declaration to help farmers re-
cover from damages and losses to crops, the Small Business Administration issues a declara-
