Inverness Patriotic Evening Set for July 3
The City of Inverness invites the public to start the July 4th weekend off with a bang
by coming to its annual Patriotic Evening on Thursday, July 3.
Liberty and Wallace Brooks Parks will once again be the stage for lively entertainment
that includes one of the best fireworks shows in the region. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with
the presenting of the colors by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.
The Hernando Church of the Nazarene will once again perform its "Patriotic Medley"
that includes a salute to the men and women in our country's armed forces. Thirty voices will
rise to the heavens when First Baptist Church of Inverness presents its own patriotic-
themed choir performance.
The fun will continue with TMC Productions providing music and games. The grand finale is
the approximately 20-minute fireworks show by Falcon Fireworks over Lake Henderson.
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to sit back and enjoy the show, or join dozens of boaters
on the water as the rockets explode overhead.
No pets or personal fireworks are allowed in the parks.
The City is still accepting donations from businesses and residents to help offset the
costs to put together the night's program; call Parks and Recreation at 726-2611 ext. 1309 for
more information.
