Citrus County Earns High Rating for Compliance with NFIP
The Citrus County Building Division is proud to announce the final score from
the most recent Community Rating System (CRS) evaluation has been determined. The
Community Rating System is completed every three years to measure compliance with the
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) rules and regulations. Previously, the County
was given a community rating of "6", which afforded our citizens a 20% discount on their
flood insurance premiums. The new community rating is a "5", which will afford our citi-
zens a 25% discount on their flood insurance premiums. In the CRS program, a lower score
is better.
Citrus County has large areas of land listed as Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA)
