were approximately 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 feet tall, in a bedroom. “These plants were not yet bud-
ding and were in the middle stage of growth,” the report stated. The weight of the marijuana
found at the residence was in excess of 25 pounds.
Numerous materials used in the processing of marijuana were also found in the
residence, including food sealer bags, plastic baggies, scissors used for cutting the buds,
numerous bags of fertilizer, numerous bottles of liquid fertilizer, 1000-watt sodium light
bulbs, scales, and plastic plant pots. Many receipts were found in the residence - receipts
for materials used to build the grow rooms, for insulation and for wiring that also would be
considered paraphernalia, the report stated.
The arrest report made note of separate air conditioning units in each of the mari-
juana growing rooms, in addition to the central air conditioning system in the residence.
Detectives also noted that the conditioning units and lighting systems were supported by
“elaborate wiring and electrical transformers that were intended to bypass the electrical me-
ter and not be accounted for through the monthly billing cycle.” The electricity was diverted
from the outside to the inside of the residence with cable wiring that “went to electrical pan-
els and breaker boxes which transferred to numerous transformers and capacitors that then
fed electricity to the lights and air conditioning units,” the report stated. Employees with the
Withlacoochee Electric Co-Operative were called to the residence to investigate the power
diversion and to ensure safety at the residence.
Gonzalez was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto,
where he was booked on charges of trafficking in marijuana, possession of a controlled sub-
stance (two types of testosterone, a male hormone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His total bond was set at $54,500
