Inglis-Levy Police Beat
Andrew A. Bundrant, New Port Richey, was placed under arrest by the Inglis
Police Department, around 9:55 a.m., May 26, when he was stopped for failing to wear a
seatbelt, and it was confirmed that he had an active arrest warrant for failure to appear in
court for driving while license suspended or revoked.
Molly Rain Jacobsen, age not given, Tampa, was arrested by the Inglis Police
Department, May 27, when she was the driver of a vehicle that was stopped “for a violation
of unlawful speed,” according to the arrest report. She told officers that her drivers license
had been suspended, which the officer verified. She was charged with knowingly driving
while lisense suspended or revoked and issued a citation. She was also cited for the speed
violation. She has a notice to appear in Levy County Court on June 19.
Jason “Jay” Strahan, 60, of Hudson was stopped by the Inglis Police Department,
June 2, for a seatbelt violation. During the traffic stop, the officer learned that Strahan was in
possession les than 20 grams of marijuana. Strahan was placed under arrest on the charges,
issued citations and a notice to appear in Levy County Court on June 19, and released at the
scene. A passenger in Strahan’s vehicle, Melton “Uncle Melty” David Deas, 64, New Port
Richey, was issued two citations - failing to wear a seatbelt and possession of paraphernalia
(a pipe used for marijuana smoking). He was placed under arrest and released at the scene.

Beverly Hills resident dies following

motorcycle crash
A Beverly Hills man who sustained critical injuries in a motorcycle crash, June
3, later expired from his injuries. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash oc-
curred around 2:10 p.m., when Scott Edwin Keatly, 59 was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson
motorcycle, traveling east on W. Dunklin St. in the Dunnellon area of Citrus County. When
Keatly approached a left curve at the intersection of W. Dunklin St. with W. Nessi St., he
failed to negotiate it, for an undetermined reason, and traveled onto the south shoulder of
W. Dunklin St., just east of W. Nessi St. On the south shoulder, the motorcycle overturned
several times, ejecting Keatly, who was not wearing a helmet. Mr. Keatly was transported
to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Medical Center where he later expired from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and details are subject to change, according to the
crash report.
