Citrus Animal shelter going to
Pet Patrol
Tuesday-Saturday schedule
The Citrus County Animal Services shelter in Inverness will be changing its sched-
ule on May 15 to close to the public on Mondays. The county commission approved the
change at its April 27 meeting.
The shelter has been open to the public six days a week until now, and the change
will allow it to save money by reducing casual labor and overtime hours, as well as to
improve customer service Tuesday through Saturday, according to Community Services
Director Cathy Pearson. She said the new schedule will also allow time for staff training and
education.
The shelter s hours of operation for the public will be Tuesday through Friday
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with late hours on Thursday until 6 p.m. On Saturdays, beginning
the 15th, the shelter will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Sundays and
holidays. For information, call 352-746-8400.
