that two students had overheard a conversation naming Charles Cox and Jacob Junkins as
being involved in the incident. At first, Cox stated that he did not have any information about
the incident. He next stated that he'd told other students to do this, several months ago, due
to problems he was having with a bus driver, but that he had not participated in the incident.
After he was asked to take a lie detector test, Cox admitted to being involved in the incident.
He said that he's bought a valve stem remover and had removed valve stems from,
perhaps, 40 tires on 20 buses. He said that it was just a prank and he had not meant to affect
so many students. He also stated that he had not realized that letting the air out of the tires
would damage them.
Cox admitted that Jacob Junkins was also involved in the incident. Junkins corrobo-
rated Cox's statements, and both boys were apologetic for their actions and stated that they
had not entered any of the buses. The boys were transported to the Citrus County Detention
Facility. Each was charged with (misdemeanors) criminal mischief and disrupting or interfer-
ing with school. The boys were released on their own recognizance, due to their coopera-
tion. The arrest reports also stated, "They were severely punished by the school system."

22, and stated that she and Cox had begun having a relationship in the summer of 2007.
