19 with W. Cardinal St. (Homosassa). At the intersection, the traffic light turned red, and
Stanley stopped the truck in the middle of the intersection. The deputy commanded Stanley
to place the truck in park and turn off the engine, and Stanley complied.
The deputy reported that Stanley s breath smelled strongly of alcohol, that he had
glassy eyes and slurred speech. He said he was heading home from Steinhatchee and had
consumed 4 Loko drinks (alcohol). Four empty Loko cans were in the floorboard, the report
stated. Stanly admitted he d had surgery to his right ankle, just a few days previously, and
although his ankle was very sore, he was using his right foot to operate the brakes and gas.
According to the arrest report, the other vehicle involved in the hit and run crash
was a red Hyundai, and Stanley s Dodge pickup truck had fresh red paint transfer to the
rear, driver s side fender. Stanley was transported to the Citrus County Detention Facility,
considered a flight risk, due to his actions after the crash. He refused to comply with sobriety
testing.
Stanley was charged with one count, each, of aggressive fleeing and eluding a law
enforcement officer from the scene of a crash, driving under the influence (DUI), DUI with
property damage, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and refusal to submit to
testing, with his total bond set at $13,000.
