Citrus County Solid Waste Management announced the Recycling Drop-off Col-
lection Center at the Homosassa Lions Club on Homosassa Trail will be permanently clos-
ing effective May 31, 2016. An alternate site is being sought and an announcement about a
new location will follow when confirmed.
The nearest recycling centers for citizens to bring their recyclables is located at
the West Citrus Community Center, 8940 W Veterans Drive in Homosassa Springs, and
behind the Lecanto Government Building, Educational Path, about one block off of CR491
in Lecanto. Non-recyclable waste can be brought to the Citrus County Central Landfill. For
