Frank Sinatra commemorative stamp
Unveiled at area Post Offices
The U.S. Postal Service unveiled a new 42-cent stamp on May 13,
the Frank Sinatra commemorative stamp. Those attending the first of
several first-day-of-issue ceremonies at New York City's Gotham Hall
included two of Sinatra's children, Nancy Sinatra and Frank Sinatra, Jr.,
along with Nancy's daughter, A.J. Lambert; the Postal Service Board of
Governors Chairman, Alan Kessler; and Rep. Jose E. Serrano (D-NY),
who credits learning to speak English to listening to his father's Sinatra
records. Sinatra's daughter, Tina, along with Postal Service Governor
James Bilbray, attended another first-day-of-issue ceremony at the
Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. The Frank Sinatra stamp artist, Kazuhiko
Sano, participated in an autograph session at the Wynn Las Vegas.
Frank Sinatra, Jr. attended another ceremony, later in the day, at the Frank Sinatra Post Office
in Hoboken, N.J., along with Postal Service District Manager Maria Morse and Rep. Albio
Sires (D-NJ).
In addition to the commemorative stamps, the U.S. Postal Service is also offering
numerous other Frank Sinatra memorabilia for sale, including shipping supplies, greeting
cards, artwork and a new Sinatra C.D., "Nothing but the Best," at selected post offices and

Kennedy Center in 1983, and awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald
Reagan in 1985. Sinatra, also known as a philanthropist, was born in Hoboken, N.J. in 1915
and died in 1998.
