Woman Charged With Scheme to Defraud
An Inglis woman was arrested by the Citrus County Sheriff s Office,
May 7, charged with scheme to defraud less than $20,000. Her bond was set at
$2,000.
According to the arrest report, the sheriff s office was contacted by the
owner of the Subway deli located at 723 NE U.S. Hwy. 19 on May 5. The owner
said he noticed that the deposits have been off, and looked over the paperwork

which targeted an employee, Tracy Ann Cone, 347, 131 Mary St., Inglis, as the
suspect. The manager stated, that at that point, approximately $185.12 was unaccounted for
in eight transactions during April 30 through May 5, but he suspected more was missing. He
showed one video to the deputy where, according to the report, Cone could be seen "going
into the cash register, pulling out money, counting it, folding a bill under, put the money
back in the register and go under the counter." At that point, the report stated, her hands
were hidden from the camera, so you could not see what she was doing.
The manager told the deputy that he d find the surveillance videos for the other
transactions and check further into his paperwork for the additional money he felt was miss-
ing.
The following morning, Cone was placed under arrest as she came into work at
the Crystal River Subway. By then, the owner had searched further and had found $482.82
missing from twenty-six transactions during April 13 through May 5 that he suspects Cone
of taking.
Cone told the deputy that she doesn t remember how much money she took, but
said she started taking money during the middle of April when her living arrangements
changed, and she was having financial problems. She said she took the money to pay for This photo is of the installation of officers at the Yankeetown Woman's Club which was held
