residence was burglarized on Feb. 4, while she was in the process of moving and had not
been there in several days. Entry was make through a window at the rear of the residence.
The victim found that several items of jewelry and a large flat screen television had been
taken. DNA taken from blood found on the victim's window sill matched Verdo's DNA
profile. The victim stated she knows Verdo from her neighborhood, but does not associate
with him because he makes her feel uncomfortable. A ring had been pawned at Essentials
Fine Jewelry & Gifts, located at 1 Jessie Ct. in Beverly Hills, for $15 on Feb. 5. Verdo was
arrested while already incarcerated at the Citrus County Detention Facility on unrelated
charges.
Bretts Joseph Macaluso, 22, a homeless man from Hernando, was arrested by the
Citrus County Sheriff's Office, May 1, charged with possession of a controlled substance
and drug paraphernalia. His total bond was set at $3,000. The report stated that Maculuso
and others were spotted by the CCSO's Air 2 Helicopter Unit, going inside a shed behind
Oyster's Restaurant located at 606 NE Hwy. 19 in Crystal River. Three syringes containing
differing amounts of methamphetamine (16 cc, 15 cc and 8 cc) were found inside the shed,
where Macalusa had been living for about a week, according to the report. A relative of
the restaurant owner stated that he allowed Macaluso to say inside the shed, but he did not
