Outage in SW Citrus
Knocks Out 11,000
Monday
Shortly after 8 pm. a power out-
age disrupted Citrus County for about 75
minutes Monday, May 9, impacting ap-
proximately 11,000 customers, according
to the Citrus County Sheriff s Office. The
entire southwest quarter of the county was
affected, from Hwy. 44, west of Lecanto,
south to Chassahowitzka. The outage was
caused by a disconnection from Duke
Energy to WREC (Withlacoochee River
Electric Cooperative, Inc.). No other ex-
planation was given
