Inglis Park Dedication
&
Eggstraganza Has Large Turnout
The dedication of the new Inglis Central Park Saturday drew a record crowd in
conjunction with the Easter egg hunt. New Inglis Mayor Bill Lake, Inglis Town Clerk Sally
McCranie, and Sandy Lambert and Darlene Slattery office workers appeared for the dedica-
tion in full pirate dress to add to the uniqueness of the ground breaking of the park with a
pirate ship theme.
Lake, a former commissioner has been working hard over his last term as commis-
sioner to bring Inglis into the future and give it some pride in the decoration, landscape,
equipment and appearance of town hall property. Lake's dream of this Central Park was real-
ized Saturday as Commissioner Gary Moser christened the park pirate ship the Carolyn R
dedicated to outgoing Mayor Carolyn Risher who was recently honored in retirement.
Plaques were presented to DAB Constructors, Capital City Bank, Progress Energy,
and Tarmac for their generous donations that helped bring this park to a reality. Many other
businesses and individuals who donated time and money to see this park through were
thanked by Lake. The playground, with covered shade for picnics and relaxing is awesome
and only a beginning as more of the project will continue to unfold over the next months.
Lighting and a basketball court are in are already in place. A walking fitness area will be added
on property donated by Capital City Bank next door to increase the size of the park area. Lake
said the park would not have been possible without the DEP Parks and Recreation Division

The Easter
Eggstravaganza
The egg hunt held

eggs in designated areas for
the incredible number of chil-
dren who turned out to seek
and gather as many eggs as
they could. Prizes and a visit
with the Easter Bunny along
with oodles of candy put smiles
on all the little faces. A second
