Water operations went to Commissioner Richard Kellman 5-0. Health and welfare
went to commissioner Drinda Merritt 5-0. The liaison for the Planning Commission went
to Richard Kellman. Land use and code enforcement officer was given to Commissioner
Sherry Ely. The town’s liaison to the Levy County Commission automatically goes to the
mayor. Audio of this meeting is available for listening or download on The Newscaster Web

We checked with several sources in other cities and got varying comments on
Commissioner Price nominating herself. Although one person said that was not proper, no
one could cite a case where the nomination was denied. In all cases, according to Roberts
Rules of Order, a commissioner can vote for him/herself. One squabble down, many more
to go.
