Inglis Town Commission
It is seriously difficult to work for the people of Inglis, if four of five
commissioners, and the mayor, are not interested in serving you, the people
of Inglis.
Mayor Drinda Merritt gave me a dressing-down in Town Clerk Sallie

McCranie's office, using words I would never consider using in the presence

of ladies, because I'm opposed to raising the millage to 6.5 from 5.0.
Town Clerk McCranie and Deputy Clerk Darlene Slattery

recommended that the water rate should be raised, and compulsory water
bills should be reinstated.
Am I to assume, we need the money for employee salaries, insur-
♦
ance and retirement? Infrastructure is not using the people's money! The
♦
Mastadon Road bridge is not fixed. The water problem in Cason Acres is not
fixed. The roads in town are not fixed.
♦
This is your town and your responsibility. Mostly, you do a great job,
♦
such as working with the community or church projects, volunteering for little
♦
league and helping your neighbors.
♦
Inglis is the best place in America to retire or raise your children. We
are privileged to live here.
♦
Please do not drop the ball concerning Inglis Town government.
Directly concerning you are raising the millage rate (tax) from 5.0 to 6.5, the
increased water rate and compulsory billing, the Mastodon Road bridge repair
and the Cason Acres water drainage problem.
VOTE for DREW WHITE, MIKE GIBSON and DALE NICHOLS to serve on
the INGLIS TOWN COMMISSION, and your taxes will not increase, and services
denied you will be accomplished.
God Bless You, God Bless Inglis, and God Bless America.
