of the road facing a large tree. At this point, Shannon got out of the vehicle and ran down S.
Bea. Ave. toward E. Gulf to Lake Hwy. The victim's friend caught up with her, called 911
and stayed with her until help arrived.
The report stated that the driver's door was damaged. The victim's face and head
were bruised and swollen, and a CT scan at the hospital revealed she'd suffered a broken
nose as a result of the scuffle with Shannon. The victim also had numerous cuts and scratch-
es to her back, due to fighting for control of the vehicle while the door was open, and the
vehicle was hitting the fence and bushes.
The victim identified Shannon from a photo line up and also described the clothing
he was wearing. Deputies scoured the area in an attempt to locate Shannon. He was found
nearby, close to S. Bea Ave., lying on the ground near a fence. Deputies later determined
that he was wearing the clothing described by the victim from the hospital. The report stated
that Shannon was unresponsive, so a deputy kicked his right leg, to gain a response, and
Shannon rolled over and shouted, "Call the cops!" Deputies explained who they were, and
why thery were looking for him and took him into custody.
While in the back seat of the patrol vehicle, the report stated, Shannon began kick-
