Tarmac recognizes water is our most valuable resource. Throughout
our planning process for the King Road Mine, every effort has been made to
minimize its use and ensure its quality.

Tarmac has conducted extensive research on the groundwater flow
water used in its quarry operations. Less than one percent (1%) of the water

To further ensure the safety of the area’s drinking water supply, Tarmac
drilled a test well on the western edge of their property, much deeper than any

Last year, SWFWMD issued a Water Use permit to Tarmac which not
only supports our water use plan, but also sets the allowable use of water
on an annual basis.
Environment
Few industries are monitored and regulated more than the mining industry when it comes to
environmental compliance. Before the first shovel hits the ground, thousands of hours of research, studies
and plans must be performed to ensure there is minimal impact to the air and water of surrounding
communities. Already, Tarmac has completed dozens of studies, all of which are available for review on
our website or at our Inglis office. Tarmac takes its environmental commitment seriously, and our safety
and compliance record over the past three decades proves this.
Since the 1980s, Tarmac has been a leading supplier of Florida construction
materials. The company employs about 1,000 people in its quarry, concrete-block, ready-
mix concrete, sand and transportation facilities across the state. Florida operations are
based in Deerfield Beach.
