Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve (WGP) Planning Meetings
The Friends of the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve will hold a strategic planning
meeting on Saturday, April 6, at9:00 a.m. This meeting will be followed by a public meet-
ing at 11:00 a.m. of Board of Trustees, the Yankeetown’s governing Board of the WGP, to
review the contracted plan for the Ellie Schiller EducationCenter’s interior. The Town re-
ceived funds from the Friends to initiate the planning stage. The Town also received funds
from the Felburn Foundation for hardware, furniture, and display equipment. The common
comment the Town and Friends hear is What is going on with the building at the WGP?’
This is your opportunity to find out and get involved with the future of this edifice. Bring a

Levy County Parks Schedule
Spring is fast approaching and Levy County Parks & Recreation would like to
invite everyone to come out and enjoy some of their local parks.
Shell Mound Park is located on CR 326, off of CR 347, north of Cedar Key. This
park is open year round. The office hours are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There are 20 campsites
with water & power hookups and 10 primitive camping sites. There are restroom & shower
facilities, a boat ramp, a fish cleaning area, basketball and an RV dumping station. The
