Citrus News Briefs
The Citrus County Sheriff s Office, Division of Fire Rescue responded to a resi-
dence near the intersection of Inverness Blvd. and Cedar Ave., March 11, after a report was
received that a glass bottle had erupted in a backyard. There were no injuries, but as a pre-
cautionary measure, several homes (around ten) were evacuated while deputies determined
what had happened.
Citrus County Animal Control Officer Tina Andes and Deputy Dave Miller rescued
three horses, March 11, near Hwy. 41 and E. Dearborn Dr. in after they escaped. The horses
were taken back go their home pasture.
According to the Citrus County Sheriff s Office, over the past few weeks, Citrus,
Marion and Levy counties have been experiencing numerous daytime residential burglaries
where doors have been forced open, and jewelry, medicine and handguns have been taken.
Please secure your valuables, and report any suspicious persons who may knock on your
door "looking for someone" who does not reside there, or solicitors without marked vehicles
with company identification. In addition, report any suspicious vehicles in your neighbor-
hood to the Citrus County (or area) Sheriff s Office. If you have any questions, contact
Detective Serocki at 352-422-0518.
New Recruit, Deputy Stephen Quinn, and Field Training Officer (FTO) Deputy
Robbie Crosnoe are tag teaming crime. After new recruits finish the Deputy Advanced Re-
cruit Traning (DART) program with the Citrus County Sheriff s Office, they are paired with
a FTO and hit the streets with that deputy for approximately 8-10 weeks. This allows an ex-
perienced and senior member of the sheriff s office to guide and mold a new deputy. FTO s
are responsible for the training and evaluation of a junior or probationary level member.
