THE TOWN OF YANKEETOWN
FEBRUARY 22, 2011 ELECTION
Because not more than three (3) individuals qualified for the three (3) Council
Seats that were open the Town of Yankeetown WILL NOT hold an Election on
February 22, 2011. The following individuals did qualify and each will serve a
two (2) year term starting 2/23/11 on Council:
Mike Lineberger
Jack Schofield
Tommy Sholes
These individual will be sworn in on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 12 noon
at Yankeetown Hall.

The Town of Inglis has recently installed a new addition to the old sign located between town
hall and the fire/rescue building that notifies the public of messages. The electronic sign will
flash the temperature, time, and important messages of meetings and other information. The
sign is operated from inside town hall and can be easily changed.

The Inglis AMVETS Post 447 held their official Open House Saturday at their new post home
on Hwy 40 E and Linda St in Inglis. Over 300 people passed through the doors or socialized on
the porch during the afternoon-evening celebration. Food, music and spirits were all part of
the action generated by the final success of the AMVETS getting their own building. The post
always seeks active memberships, so stop by if you are interested.
