stops payment on the original check - which the recipient has already deposited into their
account.
The sheriff s office is urging anyone who receives a letter like this to NOT CALL
the "claim agent" named in the letter (the name of the agent could be that of a man or a

According to the sheriff s office, so far, everyone who has received a letter has
figured out it was a scam, so no losses have occurred.
