Crystal River Man Arrested for Violation of Probation
On Friday, January 23, Special Victims Unit Detective Mat Baird with the Citrus
County Sheriff's Office arrested sexual predator Jacob Hornstra, 52, of 9877
N. Marigold Pt., Crystal River, (Crystal Manor) for violation of probation.
Earlier in January, a 16-year-old boy with disabilities responded to
a "Christian Handyman" ad that was placed in a Levy County publication,
because he wanted to have some painting done at a relative's home. The boy
made arrangements to meet Hornstra at a gas station, and the two traveled
together to his relative's residence.

A friend noticed that Hornstra was acting awkwardly, searched his
name on the internet and learned that he was a sexual predator. She contacted the Levy
County Sheriff's Office to report the incident.

truck from a N. Branch Pt., Inverness residence.
