The past two weeks I have had the opportunity to write about happenings in our
community. What crossed my mind was that a lot of the material was about community

Last week the article was about the Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve, I would like to
bring more attention to this park and the future potential the Ellie Schiller Education Center.

There have been several events over the past year at the park and all were outstanding suc-
cesses. Hundreds of people attended, events and many people were made aware of this park
for the first time.

The planning stage of what the Educational Center will encompass is on its way,

review and evaluate options. I am sure that citizen input will be considered and an exciting
plan will evolve over the next few months. This is an exciting project, when completed it
will provide a real learning experience for our youth and citizens.
