How to connect
two counties
The 3000 foot long, 6 foot wide
multi-use path on the west side of Hwy
19 in Crystal River, paved from Denny’s
Restaurant to the Cottage Framer opposite
the Crystal River Mall could be the begin-
ning of a connection from Inglis to Crystal
River.
Speaking to Marion Scorza, with
Department of Transportation (DOT),
a contract will be put up for bid in May
to resurface Hwy 19 from the Crystal
River’s Snug Harbor Rd (opposite Hayes
Motel) to Cornflower (Crystal Manor) just
south of the barge canal. Along with the
resurfacing of Hwy 19, the DOT funded
contract includes a 6 foot wide paved
multi-use path. This path extension would
meet the new bridge shoulder connecting
to the Cross Florida Barge Canal which
would connect to the Greenways and
Trails/ Withlacoochee Bay Trail and make
it possible to cross the new barge canal
bridge connecting to South Levy. Using
Cornflower folks could safely reach the
